Moderation is one of the most commendable religious and civilizational features that many societies aspire to have and crystallize through a responsible political, economic and social behaviour shown by both individuals and societies. It is not exaggerating to say that our Muslim Nation is the most moderate nation ever and this is stated by Allah in the Holy Qur’an, “We made thee a moderate nation to be witness to people as the Prophet will be witness to thee.”
The Saudi leadership has adopted the moderate approach in all its affairs since the emergence of the First Saudi State which was later asserted by the Founder Leader King Abdulaziz, may Allah rest his soul. He defined all the details of this moderate approach since he united this country under the banner of monotheism. He, may Allah rest his soul, and his sons, kings and princes who came after him, abided by this approach in all the country’s affairs, regardless of the circumstances and events.
The fact that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia applied this moderate approach does not need any proof or evidence as this is crystal clear in many forms and aspects. The Kingdom has adopted the policy of dialogue and interaction with different cultures and also adopted the global call for conscious civilizational co-existence rejecting all causes and forms of difference, extremism, injustice and tyranny and seeking to accept the other, have sound human relationships and build bridges of communication and mutual respect.
However, this needs to be well-established academically and cognitively to clearly show the efforts exerted by the Kingdom to adopt the moderate approach and point out its different dimensions and instill this approach into the minds of young people in this country to protect them from waves of extremism and deviation, strengthen their sense of belonging to their homeland and support the unity of society.
