Abstract
:
The current research aimed at revealing the effectiveness of designing digital platforms based - ARCS motivational model in enhancing reading comprehension and achievement motivation among middle school students. The research sample consisted of (50) students from the second intermediate grade students in Taif Governorate, who were divided into two equal groups, with an average of (25) students in each group. The first group studied reading comprehension texts via digital platforms after employing the ARCS motivational design model, while the second group studied reading comprehension texts via digital platforms without the motivational design model. The quasi-experimental approach was used. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the two experimental groups on reading comprehension levels (deductive, critical, tasteful, and creative) in favor of the experimental group that was exposed to learning platforms according to the ARCS motivational model. Except for the level of literal understanding, and there was a statistically significant difference on the level of achievement motivation in favor of the experimental group that was exposed to digital learning platforms according to the motivational model.
