Abstract : Three experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of supplement of honey in drinking water and propolis in feed on immune response and performance of broilers chicks. In the first experiment the honey was used at levels (0, 2, 4 and 6%) in drinking water. Propolis was used in the second experiment at levels (0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5%) in the diet. In the third experiment water and diet of broiler chicks were supplemented both additives together at the same levels above. Additives were withdrawal at the last week of experiments. The study was continues until 42 days of old. The performance criteria (live body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion and mortality rates were recorded) and immune response criteria (Relative weight of lymphoid organs, Total white blood cells count, Differential white blood cells count and Antibody response against vaccine of Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) were evaluated through the experiments to reduce the use of chemical additives. The results of the three experiments showed that the using of honey and propolis as natural feed additives in drinking water and feed has no bad effect on broiler performance criteria. While, they have a positive effect on the immune system. Generally more studies on these natural products as alternative immune modulator were needed.
